TrustedForm certificate: what it means in pay per call

TrustedForm certificate: A third-party record from ActiveProspect that documents a web lead's consent event, including the page, the disclosure text shown and a session replay.

How it works in pay per call

A TrustedForm certificate is created by a script on the lead form. It records when and where the lead was submitted and what the consumer saw. Buyers 'claim' the certificate to keep a copy, which is often what they produce if a TCPA claim alleges no consent.

Certificates help prove consent, but they don't create it. The disclosure on the form still has to name the seller and meet the prior-express-written-consent standard where it applies.

Consent-proof alternatives include Jornaya LeadiD (now under ActiveProspect after it bought Verisk Marketing Solutions), plus newer tools such as SafeBind, ConsentVerified, OptInFix and Kapture.

Example

Example: a lead buyer gets a lead with a certificate URL, claims the certificate within the retention window, and stores it. Months later, a demand letter claims no consent, and the buyer produces the certificate showing the page, the disclosure and the timestamp.
